The BEST garlicky garlic bread you’ll ever eat!
My roasted garlic bread is extra garlicky and far better than any garlic bread I’ve ever eaten. The roasted garlic is sweet, smokey, and buttery and takes each bite over the top.
Bread is my weakness, and top it with this garlicky butter and cheese, and you’ll have to take it away from me. The whole family will love this and ask for it whenever you need bread.
You won’t be able to resist this…
Sweet,
Roasted,
Garlicky,
Herby,
Cheesy
Soft, fluffy
Bread.
What do I need to make garlic bread?
Loaf of bread -the garlic butter this recipe makes covers the cut sides of about a one-pound loaf. Use your favorite Italian, French, or homemade bread.
Butter -soften it to room temperature to make mixing in all ingredients super easy. If you forget to leave it out to soften, you can put it in the microwave for a bit. Just be sure not to melt it.
Olive oil -use a good quality, flavorful olive oil for the best-flavored topping.
Garlic heads -an easy way to roast several cloves of garlic all at once. However, I’ve got two great methods you can use. Click here for the details!
Garlic cloves -grated fresh garlic adds just enough sharpness to balance the sweet roasted flavors, but you can leave it out if you prefer.
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper -I use Irish butter, and it’s a little salted. So, I just use a pinch of salt. Plus, the parmesan cheese adds saltiness as well. If you use salted American butter, omit the salt to avoid overly salted garlic bread.
Dried crushed oregano -garlic, oregano, and butter is a match made in heaven, so don’t skip this! You can try other herbs as well.
Parsley -finely chopped fresh parsley adds a fresh note to the butter and cheese.
Parmesan cheese -grated to sprinkle all over the top of the garlic butter mixture.
How to roast garlic heads?
Preheat the oven to 350 °F, 180 °C. Slice the tops of the garlic heads so that the cloves are exposed. Place the garlic onto a piece of foil, and drizzle lots of oil over the garlic. Season with salt and wrap the foil over the garlic to create a package. Roast on a cooking tray on the center rack of the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Open the foil package to expose the garlic head and return to the oven. Roast uncovered for 15-20 minutes. The garlic cloves will begin to pop out of their skins and be golden and soft.

What can you serve with garlic bread?
Anything. I mean, I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t eat this bread with. Cut it up and serve it with any breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Top a slice with spinach and feta shakshuka or creamy spinach and eggs for breakfast. For lunch, try it with tuna stuffed peppers, Mediterranean black lentil salad, or lemon and dill roasted salmon sheet pan. I can’t tell you how good it is with lamb kapama Greek-style Sunday sauce, creamy Tuscan chicken, and my hearty chicken chili soup. Let me know what you serve it with! Kali Orexi!
