A quick and easy weeknight dinner with all the bold flavors of Greek souvlaki wrapped in a warm tortilla!

My chicken souvlaki tortilla wraps are so good and easy to make that you can have dinner on the table in twenty minutes or less. The chicken is so juicy and dripping with souvlaki flavor. The veggies are tender and nutritious, and it’s all wrapped up in a slightly crispy, warm tortilla. Serve it with my delicious spicy green sauce to kick it up, and you can’t go wrong.
We all want to run out for fast food sometimes, but these are so much better, and the kids love them. I make a big batch of the chicken filling ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator. They literally come together in minutes! It’s perfect for meal prep and busy weeknights with sports, so you can still get a delicious meal on the table.
Why are these so delicious?
Juicy, souvlaki
Flavor-packed chicken
Tender, sweet,
Buttery peppers & onions
Chewy, stringy cheese
Thin, crisp tortilla
Creamy, herby,
Spicy green sauce.

What do I need for the wraps?
Bell peppers -chopped a little bit bigger than the onions to keep it consistent.
Onion -chopped small but chunky to caramelize and add bulk to your filling.
Chicken breast -or thighs diced or thinly sliced into small, bite-sized pieces, similar to fajita cuts, to cook quickly and evenly.
Salt & freshly ground black pepper -seasons the chicken and enhances the flavors of the spices.
Lemon juice -adds a bit of acidity and brightness to the marinade.
White balsamic vinegar –I love to use this because it’s light and sweeter, but you could use red wine vinegar if you can’t find it.
Ground coriander -builds on the lemony flavor while adding a little sweetness and floral.
Granulated garlic -mixes with the ground coriander and cumin more easily and sticks to the chicken better.
Ground cumin -I love the warm, peppery smokiness this adds.
Crushed red pepper flakes -I like to use the amount on the recipe card, but you can adjust this if you want more or less heat.
Dried oregano -adds that earthy herbiness the marinade craves and pairs perfectly with the other spices.
Olive oil -use your favorite oil to saute the chicken and veggies. A light-flavored oil will be fine.
Large tortilla wraps -I love these from Costco because they aren’t cooked and only take a few seconds in a skillet to brown.
Cheese –use your favorite, but I like to use muenster, mozzarella, gouda, or feta.
What’s in the spicy green sauce?
Yogurt -the thick richness helps create a smooth, creamy sauce while adding sharpness.
Sour cream -blended with the yogurt to thin out the sauce a bit and add tanginess.
Parsley -or cilantro pair perfectly with the chilis and make the sauce taste so fresh and herby.
Garlic cloves -grated or minced to easily blend into the sauce. I buy a big bag of peeled cloves at Costco and grind them all up. I store them in a bag in the freezer so it lasts forever, and I break off a chunk when I need it.
Jalapeño -or serrano chili works best, and you can adjust for the spice level you prefer.
Salt -you can taste the sauce and adjust it as needed.

How do I make the green sauce?
Blend yogurt, sour cream, parsley or cilantro, garlic, chili, and salt in a mixer until smooth. Set aside.
What’s the best way to cook the vegetables?
Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Add chopped bell peppers and onion and cook until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
How do I cook the chicken?
In a large bowl, add chicken, salt, pepper, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, coriander, garlic, cumin, red pepper flakes, and oregano and toss together. In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer to the bowl with the veggies and toss everything together.
What’s the best way to assemble the wraps?
Wipe the skillet clean and heat over medium heat. Place a tortilla in the pan and sprinkle with your favorite cheese and some crumbled feta. Add a generous scoop of the chicken and veggie mixture. Roll up the wrap and toast it in the pan until golden and heated through, about 2-3 minutes per side.

How do I serve the wraps?
Slice the wraps in half so each person can get as much as they need, and serve them with tzatziki and the spicy green sauce.
Can I make these ahead of time?
If you want to make the entire wrap ahead, assemble them, wrap them in foil, and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat and serve!
How do I reheat the wraps?
Place wrapped in foil in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes or pop into an air fryer at 350°F for 10 minutes.
What are some ways to customize these?
You can easily make these your own. Try using pita bread instead of tortillas, or add spinach, mushrooms, olives, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and veggies.
Can I kick up the heat?
You can add extra chili flakes to the chicken marinade or blend more jalapeños into the sauce.

Hi Dimitra,
First, I love your recipes and have made several of them.
I was looking at the printed recipe for the chicken Souvlaki. You might want to tweak the recipe. Add olive oil to the ingredients, as well as salt and pepper. When you mention cooking the chicken, you omitted drizzling the olive oil over the chicken. Your video shows you using salsa verde but it’s not listed in the recipe as optional. Those were the few things I thought might clarify the recipe.
Thanks for all your wonderful food ideas.
Really Good. Definitely will make again. After assembling, I broiled them on an oiled baking sheet for three minutes.
