Easy Iced coffee, two-ingredient sweet cherry cordial, and iced mountain tea!

Watch the Video:
I’m sharing these three Greek summertime drinks because the entire summer has been so HOT here in Texas!! With temperatures in the high 90’s and 100’s, we’ve been cooling down with iced Greek coffee, Cherry Vyssinatha, and Iced Malotira. All three drinks are so refreshing, cool you instantly, and are easy to make. I can’t wait for you to try them!
Iced Malotira
If you like Chamomile, you’ll love this!

Malotira, also known as Tsai tou vounou, translates to mountain tea. It comes from the mountains of Crete, is known for healing and therapeutics, and is almost like an antibiotic in Greek households. Anytime someone is sick, the malotira starts boiling! If you want some of the tea, we have it in our shop. It’s similar in flavor to Chamomile and is delicious with lemon or fresh fruit.
- Malotira tea
- Water
- Honey to taste
- Lemon
- Ice
- Optional: ginger slices, candied ginger pieces, or fresh fruit
How to make Iced Malotira
Add the water and malotira flowers (tea) to a pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3 minutes, then remove from the heat and steep for 10 minutes. Strain the tea, sweeten it with honey, and cool to room temperature. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the tea over the ice. Garnish with lemon wedges and some lemon juice or add your favorite fresh fruit or ginger to mix up the flavor. Serve cold.
Cherry Vyssinatha
A two-ingredient sweet cherry cordial served in homes throughout Greece!

Vyssinatha is a popular summertime drink in Greece made with the cherry preserve juice I showed you how to make a few episodes ago. It’s the easiest of the three drinks to make and takes me back to my childhood. We used to come back from the beach, and my Aunt used to always have some in her fridge ready to serve. It’s so delicious!
- Cherry syrup from preserves
- Ice cubes
- Lemons
- Iced water
How to make Cherry Vyssinatha
Pour the desired amount of cherry syrup into a glass. Then, fill the glass with ice and add very cold water. Stir together and squeeze some lemon juice into the glass. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve cold.
Iced Greek Coffee
Delicious rich and creamy iced coffee!

Greek coffee is bold and made with Arabica beans that have been ground into a powder. It’s boiled in a special pot known as a Briki and poured directly into cups. The smooth and delicious base for my Iced Greek coffee helps you get the caffeine you need to wake up while staying cool. This recipe almost tastes better than a frappe because it’s such a rich and creamy treat.
- Greek coffee
- Milk
- Ice cubes
- Homemade whipped cream
- Optional: ground cardamom, cocoa powder, cinnamon
How to make Iced Greek Coffee
Prepare a cup of Greek coffee and set it aside to cool to room temperature. Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the coffee over the ice and add milk. Top with whipped cream and garnish with cocoa powder, cinnamon, and/or ground cardamom. Serve cold.
