A nutrient-dense, super creamy, filling, and delicious drink that’s ready in 5 minutes!

You read that right… my gelatin coffee has 40 grams of protein in a cup. It’s creamy, filling, and so easy to make. When you whisk the milk until it’s nice and frothy, it almost looks like a latte, and the gelatin creates the thickest, rich, silky cup of coffee you’ll ever drink. You won’t believe how much this elevates your already delicious cup of morning joe.
Gelatin is gaining popularity right now, and I prefer it over collagen, which has been so popular for years. I’ve done some research and think gelatin has even more healing properties than collagen, but I’m not a doctor. Do your research on this because there’s a lot of talk out there. Regardless, if you want to pump more nutrition and protein into your coffee, this is a great way to do it!
Why will this become a regular thing?
Thick, creamy
Rich, delicious
Nutrient-dense
Easy to make coffee.

What are the ingredients for gelatin coffee?
Unflavored gelatin -I like this brand because it’s clean, kosher, and non-GMO.
Milk -cold milk works best to prevent the gelatin from seizing. I use whole milk, but you can use your favorite milk, including almond, soy, and oat.
Honey -I love using honey as my sweetener because of the flavor, vitamins, minerals, and health benefits.
Pure vanilla extract -a good quality adds the best flavor.
Brewed coffee -or instant coffee if no one has made a pot that morning. I do this often, even in my video, and it’s always delicious.
What are the best garnishes for gelatin coffee?
Ground cinnamon –for a little spicy kick with additional health benefits.
Cocoa powder –a superfood that adds chocolatey goodness.

Is it true you have to “bloom” gelatin?
Yes. Pour the desired amount of milk into a small saucepan and add the gelatin. Whisk together and set aside to bloom, softening and hydrating, for 3-4 minutes.
How do you make gelatin coffee?
After your gelatin is soft, heat the milk over medium heat while whisking continuously. Once the gelatin melts and the mixture is steaming hot, remove it from the heat and whisk in the honey and vanilla. Add the prepared coffee to a mug and stir in the gelatin milk.

What are the best honey substitutes?
Try maple syrup if you’d like a honey substitute with similar health benefits. It tastes different but is delicious and a great way to change things up as you incorporate this on a regular basis. You can always use granulated or brown sugar if you don’t have or like either of those.
How do I serve the coffee?
I like to make my coffee in a beautiful mug, especially when I’m making it for guests, and garnish it with cinnamon or cocoa powder. Enjoy!
Can I make this without coffee?
Yes! My kids like this without coffee. I just use more milk in place of the coffee. You could even use chocolate milk!

What other coffee do you drink?
As you probably have seen, I think the perfect cup is Greek Coffee. If you haven’t tried it, please do! I also love Greek Frappe’s and have compared it to the trendy Dalgona Whipped Coffee. They’re both good, but I bet you can guess which I go back to. Ha! The most indulgent coffee I drink though, is my Greek Coffee Hot Chocolate. It’s a fusion of Greek coffee and thick, creamy hot chocolate for the most velvety, sweet cup of hot coffee. I hope you try them all!

Sound’s delicious, what about adding an egg yolk and blend for even more protein and goodness?
I’ve been adding unflavored protein powder to coffee for awhile and am now going to try gelatin. Thanks for the heads-up about starting the gelatin cold. A little used alternative sweetener is the amino acid glycine.
That’s great! Adding gelatin to coffee can be a good way to boost protein intake and get some extra benefits. Starting the gelatin cold is definitely a good tip to avoid clumping. Glycine is an interesting choice for an alternative sweetener—it’s a gentle option that can add a touch of sweetness without being overwhelming. If you have any more tips or need further advice on incorporating these ingredients, feel free to ask!
would like to know where you get your data on the protein amount please
The gelatin I have is 10g protein/tablespoon. She uses 3 tablespoons (which is a lot!) in the recipe. Perhaps the rest of the protein count is from the milk?
