BROILED SHRIMP WITH LADOLEMONO (LEMONY OLIVE OIL SAUCE)

BROILED SHRIMP WITH LADOLEMONO (LEMONY OLIVE OIL SAUCE)

Yield: 6

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds jumbo shrimp tail on, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • Sea salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pinches red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • For the Ladolemono Sauce:
  • 4 servings
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients until well blended. Pour in a serving bowl with a spoon. Whisk or stir well before serving.
  2. I taught this recipe in one of my cooking classes. It was part of a very elegant "Date Night" themed menu. Everyone could not believe just how easy this dish is to prepare. I served this with my spanakorizo (spinach rice pilaf) and it was a huge hit. You can serve it as an appetizer, a main entrée with some pasta or roasted vegetables or even with a nice salad. Just make it! You will not be disappointed and your guests will be very pleased 🙂
  3. Preheat the oven to the broiler setting.
  4. Wash the shrimp and pat completely dry. Place on a baking sheet. Pour olive oil over the shrimp. Sprinkle with salt and spices. Mix well and lay the shrimp apart to cook evenly. Broil for 6-7 minutes turning once.
  5. Serve on a platter with ladolemono sauce. Seriously, that's it! Try it and let me know how it turns out 😉
