To make this refreshing and sugar free drink:
8 cups watermelon chunks (about 4 pounds)
4 ounces fresh lemon juice
2 cups sparkling water
8 drops stevia extract, or more
mint for garnish
Note: make 1/2 this recipe more to create ice cubes
Place the watermelon in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pass through a strainer and discard the pulp.
Pour in a serving container and add lemon juice, sparkling water, and desired amount of stevia.
Pour over watermelon ice cubes and serve garnished with mint.
Makes 1 serving:
¼ cup heavy whipping cream, or less for a lighter drink
¾ cup whole milk
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon confectioners’ sugar
2-3 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread
A dollop of homemade whipped cream
Dusting of cinnamon
Place the milk, cream, sugar and cocoa powder in a small saucepan. Mix it well and make it scalding hot.
Remove from heat and whisk in chocolate hazelnut spread until melted.
Pour in a cup and top with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. Dust with cinnamon or cocoa powder and serve immediately.
A refreshing summer drink. Feel free to substitute cantaloupe for the watermelon. Mint is also a great substitute for the basil. Citrus goes great in this drink too! Use your imagination and create your favorite combinations.
4 cups seeded and cubed watermelon
2 cups water
1/4 cup sugar
handful fresh basil leaves
Combine sugar, water and basil leaves in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir so that the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes.
Discard basil leaves and cool completely. Now you have basil flavored simple syrup.
Place the cubed watermelon in a blender and process until smooth. Add the basil syrup and blend until smooth.
Pour over ice and enjoy!
This is a very refreshing and beautiful drink. Surprise your mom with it for breakfast or brunch on Mother's Day which is right around the corner. What makes it even more special are the strawberry ice cubes in it that taste like mini popsicles.
Here's the delicious recipe. Make sure to serve it in the most beautiful glass that you own!
1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
First, begin by making the strawberry ice cubes. Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring the sugar until it dissolves. Allow this simple syrup to cool completely.
Place the strawberries in a blender and pour the cooled simple syrup over them. Puree until smooth.
Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and place in the freezer until frozen solid. This usually takes 4 hours.
Note: These strawberry ice cubes are wonderful little popsicles, so make extra and store them in freezer bags until ready to use. They're a wonderful, refreshing snack in the summer.
Pour mango nectar in a glass until half full.
Fill the remaining half up with the sparkling water.
Add some strawberry ice cubes and serve!
