I always make these to accompany roast chicken. If I don't, my children think that the sky must be falling... They are the perfect side to any main course: roast beef, grilled chicken, shrimp, you get it, right? So simple to make, it's unbelievable. Here's what you'll need:
I'm married to the love of my life, Amjad, or as my sister likes to call him "the Wacky Paki". Trust me, he's earned that title all on his own by constantly teasing and pranking everyone he knows, ALL the time, constantly joking.... He's from Pakistan, so that's where the "Paki" (in Wacky Paki) comes from. He's also a master gardener, fruit trees are his passion. You name it, we have it growing in our back yard. We even have apple & cherry trees, here in Houston, Texas. I'll post some pics & maybe even a gardening section soon!
Four years ago, we opened "Euro Bakery & Café" with my cooking skills and his business expertise. It's like our second home. We have four children and the two older ones help us run it. What a dream come true it has been. A true blessing!
Meet Musa, our eldest. He's 16, taller than me (I can't believe it :O)and he loves dogs. Can you tell? He also makes my life "more interesting". That's what he tells me when I'm upset with him :)
This is our only daughter, Warda. She's 14 and her ultimate and ONLY dream these days is to meet the boy band "One Direction". Lord help me get through these teen years.....
Yousuf is 12 and quite the magician around here. People come to the restaurant sometimes just to watch him perform his magic tricks. David Copperfield, watch out ;)
Eisa who is 7 is our youngest. We have to hide all things sweet from him. He's our little cookie monster :)
